Ristorante

The indoor restaurant

Half board in Moena for a journey that starts with the palate

A holiday in Moena is a gateway to the tradition of the Val di Fassa.

Even today, walking through the streets of the town, you will hear our ancient Ladin language spoken, as you admire our typical houses and old tabià.

This fascinating reference to local traditions and history also finds confirmation at the table, thanks to our indoor restaurant, the perfect focus point of this half-board holiday in Moena.

The stages of flavour

Every day you can choose between 4 menus and a wide variety of regional and national wines, while once a week a typical Ladin dinner will accompany you on a journey through our ancient flavours, and our candlelit banquet is perfect for creating a truly magical atmosphere.

But what is eaten here?

Here you can discover the dishes of the healthy and simple Ladin cuisine of the Val di Fassa which, thanks to Austrian domination absorbed many characteristics of South Tyrolean cooking, while maintaining its own typicality.

Flavour

You will therefore find dishes such as canederli (in our Ladin balote) in broth or with game ragout, spätzle (typical dumplings) and strangolapreti with melted mountain cottage butter, speck, apple strudel and carne salada, alongside original dishes of the valley, such as barley soup, orzotto creamed with teroldego wine or aromatic herbs, ciajoncie (ravioli stuffed with potatoes), game, tonco de pontesel.

Among the cheeses, you simply must taste the “Puzzone di Moena” and the “Cher de Fassa”.

The typical desserts include “fortae“, snail-shaped pancakes prepared with a mixture of flour, eggs, yeast, salt, sugar and grappa, which are served with a sprinkling of icing sugar and cranberry or redcurrant jam.

Do you want to know the recipe for our typical apple strudel? Too long to explain here! Sign up for our newsletter to learn about this and other exclusive goodies!

Cucina Tipica

Possible menu changes?

Of course; especially for children, who have a separate menu (we also offer flexible hours to meet the needs of families).

We also welcome the requests of guests who have food intolerances, who suffer from celiac disease, or who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet.

Ospiti a 4 zampe

Out of respect for other guests, the restaurant is not accessible to our four-legged friends; you can, however, still enjoy dinner with them in the stube of the American Lounge Bar Bistrò Matisse.

Great bar scene

Dropped in here for a post-meal grappa and to catch the Monday night Serie A game on TV. Great atmosphere and big TV screens. Friendly bar staff who don’t pester you when you are watching the footie. The hotel looks pretty decent and there’s a nightclub downstairs.

Attention to detail in beautiful Moena

I should start by saying I was lucky – on a work trip, staying in a room on the fifth floor with a private balcony overlooking the river. But, it couldn’t have been nicer.

The room was well appointed – clean, a decent size, good shower and the aforementioned amazing balcony. My only criticisms are that there was no minibar and that the wifi signal didn’t reach my room, although I didn’t follow this up as it was not an issue for me. So it is possible the staff would be able to help.
